Galaxy Formation — a Condensation Process Just after Recombination

چکیده

A scenario of galaxy formation is put forward which is a process of sudden condensation just after recombination. It is essentially based on the fact that the cosmic matter gas after recombination is a general relativistic Boltzmann gas which runs within a few 10 years into a state very close to collision–dominated equilibrium. The mass spectrum of axially symmetric condensation ”drops” extends from the lower limitM ≃ 10M⊙ to the upper limit M ≃ 10M⊙. The lower limit masses are spheres whereas the upper limit masses are extremely thin pancakes. These pancakes contract within a time of about 2, 5 · 10y to fastly rotating spiral galaxies with ordinary proportions. In this final state they have a redshift z ≃ 3. At an earlier time during their contraction they are higly active and are observed with a redshift z ≃ 5. PACS numbers: 98.62.Ai; 04.20. – q

INTRODUCTION During mitosis, chromosome condensation helps to ensure proper segregation of chromosomes by resolving tangles between sister chromatids and nonhomologous chromosomes. Compaction is believed to be achieved by the formation of loops and subsequent higher order folding of these loops

During mitosis, chromosome condensation helps to ensure proper segregation of chromosomes by resolving tangles between sister chromatids and nonhomologous chromosomes. Compaction is believed to be achieved by the formation of loops and subsequent higher order folding of these loops (reviewed by Koshland and Strunnikov, 1996). Only a few factors, histones, topoisomerase II, and condensins, have ...

baryonic matter distribution in the large-scale structures is one of the main questions in cosmology. This distribution can provide valuable information regarding  the processes of galaxy formation and evolution. On the other hand, the missing baryon problem is still under debate. One of the most important cosmological structures for studying the rate and  the distribution of the baryons is gal...

Designing E1 Deleted Adenoviral Vector by Homologous Recombination

Adenoviruses are used extensively to deliver genes into mammalian cells, particularly where there is a requirement for high-level expression of transgene products in cultured cells, or for use as recombinant viral vaccines or in gene therapy. In spite of their usefulness, the construction of adenoviral vectors (AdV) is a cumbersome and lengthy process that is not readily amenable to the generat...

Stellar Populations in the Central Galaxies of Fossil Groups

It is inferred from the symmetrical and luminous X-ray emission of fossil groups that they are mature, relaxed galaxy systems. Cosmological simulations and observations focusing on their dark halo and inter-galactic medium properties confirm their early formation. Recent photometric observations suggest that, unlike the majority of non-fossil brightest group galaxies (BGGs), the central early-t...

Star cluster survival and compressive tides in Antennae-like mergers

Gravitational tides are widely understood to strip and destroy galactic substructures. In the course of a galaxy merger, however, transient totally compressive tides may develop and prevent star forming regions from dissolving, after they condensed to form clusters of stars. We study the statistics of such compressive modes in an Nbody model of the galaxy merger NGC 4038/39 (the Antennae) and s...
